The 1stGuard^TM is designed for field use, with active trigger built into an easy to grip handle. Extended battery life (>4 hours) allows continuous, uninterrupted work in the field.

Operated very much like a point-and-shoot camera, the 1stGuard^TM delivers accurate identification results in a matter of seconds. Since the identification is based on the chemical fingerprint on the molecular level, there is no chance for mix-up or human error.

Unlike other lab-based analytical techniques, there is no sample preparation needed for 1stGuard^TM. It can penetrate plastic bags or clear/amber-colored glass bottles while does not alter or destroy the sample thus maintaining its integrity.

Smaller than a typical lunch cooler and battery operated, the Portability^TM Raman analyzer can be easily moved from lab to lab or transported to the field, yet under the hood it has a research grade Raman spectral engine. Aided by a 2048 element CCD array detector thermoelectrically cooled to less than -20 °C, the Portability^TM delivers full spectral coverage (300 to 3200 cm^-1) with 5 cm^-1 resolution.

In addition to on board data processing functions, the Portability^TM can transmit data to centralized facilities via WiFi networks, thus enabling real time communication and decision making in mission critical situations.

The RamSpec^TM Series employs a highly efficient Volume Phase Grating as the spectral dispersion element and an ultra sensitive InGaAs array detector as the detection element, thereby providing high-speed parallel processing and continuous spectrum measurements.
